Southland has numerous memorials scattered throughout the province, commemorating those who made the ultimate sacrifice during the First World War. This book represents the culimination of many years of research undertaken by Southland historian, Bryce Horrell to shed light on the people behind the names on the memorials.

At 393 pages, this large volume has positively identified the vast majority of the names on these memorials and provides an overview of their service, life and sacrifice and includes, in most cases, a portrait photograph.
